Gender: female
Age: 19
Birthday: February 25th
Race: A breed betwixt fire daemons and humans.
Height: 5' 10'' - ish
Hair color/length: A deep, burnt auburn color that shines in the sun. Her locks of hair are curly, and fall to her shoulders. When wet, a little past that.
Eye color: A deep, striking green color, though they are usually hidden behind a hat, or her hair. If you look closely, you can see a spark, a glint if you will, of intelligence in those green depths.
Appearance: She is tall, with soft curves that are hidden behind overly sized clothes. She has a few freckles on her shoulders, and one on the left side of her right wrist. She has full, cherry red lips, a heart-shaped face defined by strong cheek bones, slightly pointed ears and a rounded nose which crinkle slightly when she smiles. Her teeth are a brilliant white, and are perfectly straight except for an odd sharpness that lends her a slightly cat-like look. She is usually wearing a cream colored peasant's shirt that is tucked into a green scarf she keeps tied around her waist. On top of the scarf is a black belt that was given to her by Arangar. Her brown, slightly worn pants and tan suede boots are mens and usually draw a stare or twenty. The only thing remotely valuable on her person is an emerald choker her mother gave to her when she was young.
Weapon: Her brain. She is quick, wily and very persuasive. Shes also been known to handle a knife.
Weakness: She is terrified of being under bridges. Also, she does not do well with bug larvae. She will do anything for a child; she lost one once. Don't ask. Shes also terrified of falling in love. Sex she can deal with. Attachments are another story.
Personality: She's an introvert. She blushes only when she loves, but other than that, she is a cold-hearted killer. That being said, do not mistake her as mean. She can be kind when youre not on her list, and she knows the value of human life. Every time she is paid to kill someone, she does the job as painlessly as possible.
History: Elliana was taken from her family at age five, and forced to be a servant of her king. She worked in the royal library for a while. She taught herself to read, write, and speak properly. The Overseer, Leneil, didnt like this. He said that slaves should be kept ignorant, or else they would question rules. She was kept in the palaces dungeon for two years, with nothing but the scars on her back to mark the days. They moved her to work in the kitchens, because she could light fires when no one else could. The palace magician, Arangar saw this; he took her under his wing. She was fourteen. He was seventeen. She became a fire dancer, an entertainer for the palaces soldiers and guests. When she was fifteen, she caught the eye of the prince, Wellford. He was a chauvinist, stupid, clumsy, brat who was used to getting everything he wanted. Needless to say, though he was easy on the eyes, she did not return his favor. He tried to court her many times, but Arangar always had something for her to do, something to keep her busy; for this she was eternally grateful. But she was called to the king anyways, and asked to give her innocence for the benefit of the country. When she declined, it was taken. She was raped brutally, and conceived a child whom she soon miscarried. She was seventeen. Arangar was the one to care for her, to nurse her back to health both mentally and physically. He helped her to accept and learn from what had happened. Not to forget it, but take it and learn from it. It was a harsh lesson to learn. She would never be able to have a child again.
Arangar was the first man to tell Elliana that the blush that came to her cheeks when he took her in his arms to practice the right motions when conjuring fire was beautiful. He was the only one that raised her chin when she looked down at her feet. The only one that let her look him in the eyes, and he was the only one watched her with a tender smile as she decoded and conjured the more complex raptures and spells. Laugh with her as they figured out ancient riddle after riddle encoded in the old texts. Two years passed and their simple smitten ways turned into a deep love. Elliana became bolder, and more forthright with her thoughts. Arangar could no longer look at her and say that there wasnt something more to his feelings for her than friendship. In the spring of her nineteenth year, while others basked in the heat of the Beltane fires, Arangar and Elliana shared something more precious, more gentle, than most people in this world could ever imagine. They loved and let love grow between them for over a three years before an unwanted visitor laid their prying eyes on their secret encounters. At Arangars execution, Elliana could see Leneils condemning smile and knew it would be his last. Leniel died that night. Apparently, he had left his candle burning and his room went up in flames. Strangely enough, the rest of the palace wasnt even scratched. The next day she packed her things, and was never seen at the palace again.

Why is it that overseeing doesn't cause oversight and overlooking isn't the same as looking over, unless it's looking over from an overlook?
